How it works
Sanctions
Every address is matched against the US Treasury OFAC list of sanctioned crypto addresses, refreshed daily. A match is the strongest flag there is.
Stablecoin freezes
We ask the USDT and USDC contracts directly whether the issuer has frozen the address. Frozen funds cannot be moved and exchanges refuse them.
Direct exposure
For an address: who it received from recently. For a transaction: which wallets funded the exact coins it spends. Each is screened the same way.
Why not Monero?
Monero hides senders, receivers and amounts by default, so funds cannot be traced. Here you can only check an XMR address against the OFAC list.

Questions people ask
What does this AML check look at?
Three things, for free: whether the address or any party to the transaction is on the US Treasury OFAC sanctions list; whether Tether or Circle has frozen it (USDT on Ethereum and TRON, USDC on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon and Optimism); and its direct exposure, meaning the counterparties of its recent transfers, or the wallets that funded the exact coins in a transaction, checked against the same lists.
If it says low risk, are my funds clean?
Not necessarily. We do not use commercial attribution data (labels for exchanges, darknet markets, mixers or scams that firms such as Chainalysis sell), and we only look one hop back. A low result means no flags in the public sources we check, not a guarantee. Exchanges may use deeper tools and reach a different verdict.
Which networks are supported?
Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and TRON (including USDT-TRC20). For Monero we can only check whether an address is on the OFAC list: Monero hides senders, receivers and amounts, so nobody can trace where XMR came from.
How is the risk score worked out?
An address on the OFAC list scores 100 (critical). An address frozen by a stablecoin issuer scores 85. Direct exposure to sanctioned or frozen counterparties scores 55–95, depending on the share of value involved; exposure to scam-labelled addresses scores 30–60. Otherwise the score is 0.
Do you store what I check?
No. Checks are sent with a form (so they never appear in links or server logs), looked up from public blockchain APIs by our server, and cached for 10 minutes. Nothing is kept unless you click "Create share link", which saves the report for 30 days.
