Mempool status: no backlog. Everything waiting fits in the next block, so low priority confirms just as fast. Fee = per-byte rate × typical size (median of transactions in the mempool), rounded up as wallets do. pXMR = piconero (10⁻¹² XMR).

Questions people ask

How much is a Monero transaction fee right now?
A typical transaction (1,533 bytes, two outputs) costs about 0.000031 XMR (≈ $0.017) at low priority. Most wallets pick this automatically when the mempool is not backed up. Higher priorities cost 4×, 16× or 200× more and only help when blocks are full.
How long does a Monero transaction take?
A transaction usually gets its first confirmation in the next block, on average every 2 minutes. Received funds become spendable after 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes. Merchants and exchanges set their own confirmation requirements.
Why do Monero fees change?
Monero has no fixed block size. The fee per byte is derived from the median block weight and the block reward, and wallets add a multiplier for priority. When blocks fill up, the median grows over time and fees per byte fall again, which keeps typical fees low.
Does Monero have a maximum supply?
No. Since June 2022 Monero has a permanent tail emission of 0.6 XMR per block (about 157,680 XMR a year) to keep miners paid and the chain secure. That is about 0.84% a year today, and the rate keeps falling as supply grows.
Which Monero version should I run?
Use the latest release in the table below and download it only from the official site or GitHub. Network upgrades require updated software, so outdated nodes and wallets can stop syncing. Always verify the download hashes before installing.
