Best fit for 10.0 kH/s: P2Pool Nano (the largest chain where you expect at least two shares per payout window).
Estimates at the current difficulty and price; both change constantly. XMR per day = your hashrate ÷ network hashrate × 720 blocks × average reward of the last 60 blocks. Not financial advice.
Miners = addresses with at least one share in the current PPLNS window. Effort = work done since the last block found, relative to what is expected on average (100%). Data from the public p2pool.observer APIs.

Start mining with P2Pool
1 · Run a node
monerod --zmq-pub tcp://127.0.0.1:18083 --prune-blockchain and let it sync. A pruned node needs about 100 GB.
2 · Start P2Pool
p2pool --host 127.0.0.1 --wallet 4YourPrimaryAddress --mini (or --nano). P2Pool needs a primary address starting with 4.
3 · Point your miner
xmrig -o 127.0.0.1:3333. Enable huge pages for a noticeably higher hashrate.
4 · Watch your shares
Search your address on the observer for your chain. Payouts arrive straight in your wallet whenever P2Pool finds a block.

Questions people ask
Is Monero mining profitable?
It depends almost entirely on your electricity price. Monero uses RandomX, which is built for ordinary CPUs, so most miners use a desktop or server they already own. Enter your hashrate, power draw and price per kWh above: the calculator uses the live network difficulty, the average block reward including fees and the current XMR price. Hardware cost is not included.
Should I mine on P2Pool main, mini or nano?
All three pay the same on average, with no pool fee. The difference is how often you get paid. You want at least a couple of shares inside each PPLNS window. At today’s difficulty that means roughly 2.88 MH/s or more for main, 32.5 kH/s or more for mini, and nano below that. The calculator highlights the best chain for your hashrate.
Why haven’t I received a P2Pool payout?
P2Pool pays directly in the Monero block it finds, to every miner with a share in the current PPLNS window. If your hashrate is low for the chain you picked, you may hold no share when a block is found. Switch to mini or nano, and look up your address on the chain’s observer site to see your shares.
How long would solo mining take to find a block?
On average, network difficulty divided by your hashrate, in seconds. For a typical desktop CPU that is many years, which is why small miners use P2Pool: same expected income, far smoother payouts, and still decentralised.
Can I mine Monero with a GPU or a laptop?
GPUs are inefficient on RandomX compared with CPUs. A laptop can mine, but heat and battery wear usually cost more than it earns. Desktop and server CPUs with large L3 caches do best.
